Fawad Ahmad received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Air University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2014, and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication) from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2022. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Emerging Digital Technologies at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Antonella Bogoni, which he began in 2023.

His doctoral research focuses on the optimization of a photonic-based distributed MIMO radar system. As part of this work, he completed a research internship at TU Delft, Netherlands, where he worked on imaging algorithms for MIMO Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). His broader research interests include radar cross-section (RCS) modeling of extended targets using machine learning, coherent and non-coherent processing techniques for MIMO radar systems, optimization methods, and target tracking.
